From a young age, Biz loved baking and experimenting with flavors. Her teenage dream of owning a bakery was put on hold as she built a successful photography and directing career, often working with food. But the passion for baking never went stale. Her 2018 experiments with adorable polar bear and reindeer cupcakes ignited a passion for crafting fancy cupcakes. Not long after, she became captivated by the art of buttercream flowers.

However, she quickly realized the frustration of sourcing specialty items—the sprinkles, edible glitter, and just the right piping tips were a nightmare to obtain! Running from store to store, buying in bulk online, and the sheer expense of it all was overwhelming. That's when the lightbulb went off. Why not create the ultimate floral cupcake kit? And with her video production background, she knew exactly how to make them even better: step-by-step video tutorials. Decades after her initial bakery dream, Biz was back in the land of cupcakes. 

Recognizing a gap in the market for baking kits geared towards adults, Biz envisioned Foxiecakes as a fun, whimsical escape from daily stress for the young at heart. Plus she wanted to offer more than the usual vanilla and chocolate (no shade!), focusing on the unique and imaginative flavors she loved discovering in pastry shops. What if she could make it easy for everyone to create imaginative flavors at home? 

In 2024, recipe development began, and Biz quickly discovered the challenge of finding easily available natural food coloring—especially a rarity in baking kits. She dove into the world of plant-based colorants, meticulously testing everything from beet powder to spirulina and turmeric.

The result? Foxiecakes: all-in-one kits with natural ingredients, no artificial colors, flavors, or GMOs, accessible to everyone, and bursting with imaginative flavors.
